    Yale University

    At Yale, Ares Maia spent the first day speaking with students about her zine-making journey, including how design has led her to self-publishing. During the second class in October Ares conducted an in-person zine-making workshop using Adobe software, Xerox paper, and a stapler.

  • Columbia University

    At Columbia University, 15 students from diverse educational backgrounds, including English, anthropology, and political science, successfully completed a workshop and created their coil own bound zines. Despite not having design degrees, they were able to use Acrobat and InDesign to produce their books.

  • Parsons School of Design

    At Parsons, Ares Maia was invited to speak with students about her zine-making journey, including archiving, paper-making, and how design has led her to self-publishing.

  • Cornell University

    At Cornell University, Ares Maia and Owen Madigan conducted an in-person zine-making workshop using Adobe software, Xerox paper, and a stapler. This program has been extended through 2025.

  • Cornell x Beyond

    In collaboration with Cornell, Owen Madigan and Ares Maia conducted workshops in marginalized areas of Ithaca, reaching local high schools, and provided free workshops at the 14BC Gallery in Chinatown, NY. This program has been extended through 2025.
